Lens
You don't see yourself the way I see you
You see a reflection in a mirror
Through a judgemental lens
You critique the crinkles by your eyes
The scabs on your knees
The peeling skin on your feet
Tears that streak down your cheek
And the stretch marks around your waist
But I don't
I see a girl
That laughs so had her eyes crinkle up and she cries
That picks herself up from every fall and failure
And she is stronger then she knows
That is always planning the next adventure
That cares so much and fights for every injustice
That goofs off and collapses into fits of giggles
And that can smash a hot dog challenge
You don't see yourself the way I see you
You see you at your worst
And others at their best
But you need to know
You are beautiful
