Frayed


Once a fresh plait held strong
Three cords woven together
But times of trials wore them down
The first rope had aspirations of being independent and left
The third rubbed the second till it was bare thin
When the second finally snapped it was deemed weak
The third bore no blame
The first rope returned and tried to remake the plait
They assumed everything would stay the same when they left
The first aligned themselves with the third
Together the new duo grew closer and made a new partnership
They lived happily ever after
