All New

A few weeks into my first year of university and I thought I would write down hows its going and all the new things I'm discovering and experiencing.

Lets start with the basics: classes. I've actually found some of them pretty interesting and I'm loving my Greek Myth class. I'm worried for the exam though because the work is complex and I think I will get some of it confused. My Society, Environment and Place (Geography) class is great because I'm not at much of a disadvantage not having done much Geography at school. Next semester I will be doing Introduction to Geography and I wonder if I should have done that first or maybe it follows on after the one I'm doing now? My Psychology as a Natural Science class puts me to sleep and I don't often stay for the whole lecture or even go at all. I have the tutorial for it a couple of hours before the lecture so we cover the material before I even get in there so I don't see the point. My Identity and Belonging paper (compulsory) is really interesting. The assignments are easy, topics short and interesting and I am able to learn about other people's points of view and arguments that I haven't come across before.

I'm finding it quite lonely in terms of friends, as I don't study with anyone and people I know that also go to the same Uni as me, don't include me in their studying or car pooling. It is nice meeting people in class and I love my Geography lecturer. She is so energetic and so good at engaging the class and making learning exciting.

I'm still learning to juggle working and studying but I think I am getting the hang of it. I am not very disciplined with my money and need to work on cutting my spending and saving some more money. I will have to buy a car soon, as I will have to share the car with my younger brother. I am loving my independence as much as I thought I would. I'm very excited for the rest of the year and all the new things I am going to discover.

Until next time
